With advanced signatures (AES), signees authenticate themselves using government-issued identification matched with AI-powered facial recognition. Advanced signatures are suitable for workflows that require enhanced KYC, such as when transactions carry considerable risk or involve a large amount of funds.

How advanced e-signatures work

1. Document sent for signing digitally

The signee receives an email with a link to start the document signing process. A user-friendly interface guides the user through the authentication process step-by-step and lets them know what data they need to have on hand.

2. Signee uploads their ID

If the document recipient starts a signing process using a desktop computer, they are prompted with a QR code to use their mobile phone to complete the identity verification. The signee then takes a photo of their identification using their mobile phone. The ID is authenticated to ensure its legitimacy.

3. Signee uploads a selfie

The signee takes a photo of themselves in real time. Artificial intelligence verifies that the person in the selfie is the same as the person on the government-issued ID.

4. Document is signed

The signer chooses their desired digital signature appearance and receives a code sent via text message to complete the signing.

5. Signed document is delivered

The signed document is delivered along with the information used to verify the signee’s identity, e.g. the ID photo and selfie submitted during the signing process.

In the activity log, you can monitor the progress of the identity verification and signing process. Additionally, you can send reminders to complete signing to keep your processes moving along nicely.
